time for a new standard of care

our story

Global Surgical Innovations Pty Ltd (GSI) develops implants, devices and actv-graft® bioscaffold for tissue repair. Our team share a passion to help deliver patient-centered care for local and global health contexts, alongside one-health priorities.

In 2013 GSI founders were the first to clinically use 3D printing technology to form a bioactive infection-fighting custom implant. Taking just minutes to prepare in surgery, this 3D print-formed implant was used to successfully repair a patient's contaminated head injury resulting from contact with a propellor.

Further custom 3D implants, including for spine, were collaboratively developed with University of Sydney and partnered hospitals. In a world-first, a bed-ridden female patient was enabled to walk with minimal pain the day after being treated. The revolutionary 3D print-formed spine implant was prepared in-surgery in minutes.

GSI was established in 2019 to commercialize PSI Ψ™ patient-adaptable technology applied to proprietary actv-graft® bioscaffold technology and bioluminos® LED light-active systems for streamlining surgery.

Our team are working and partnering to deliver disruptive industry 5.0 implant and custom tool solutions to reconstruct, regenerate, restore tissue form and function for patients. Core to our innovation activity are the agile low-energy processes applied to biodegradables and renewables using smart life-cycle design.
